Okra powder in 40g format, from Senegal
Okra is a fruit from a plant native to Africa but its consumption has spread to Creole cuisine in the south of the USA or to India or Pakistan.
When fresh, it is a gelatinous product with which you can make different curries or preparations with rice and tomato in the Persian and Lebanese style, which you either love or hate.
In powder form, its use is more intended to gelatinize some sauces, give background to African or Indian dishes or combine with other spices.
But they are its multiple properties:
very rich in fiber, large amount of antioxidants , Vitamin C and E, beta-carotene up to 10 times more than a carrot, antiexpectorant, anti-inflammatory, diets for cholesterol and weight loss, improvements in memory but, its greatest virtue is in diets for diabetes by regulating intestinal absorption of sugar and improving blood glucose levels
