Baharat , from the plural bahar, spices in Arabic , the equivalent of Indian masala, is a traditional spice mix from the Arab world, from the Persian Gulf, through the Middle East to the Maghreb area.
Also known as a Seven Spice Mixture, although the reason is not very well known since it usually contains a few more, at least 8, among which, as in this preparation, are: paprika, coriander, black pepper, cumin, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom. , bald or cayenne among others.
