Date molasses or date honey is a thick liquid obtained from pressing the date to obtain all its juice (about 200g of dates to obtain 100g of its honey) in a completely natural way and without the need for sugar or preservatives.
It is usually used as an alternative to sugar or traditional syrups for breakfasts based on pancakes or porridge, spread on bread with tahini as in Iran or to marinate birds and then put them in the oven giving a sweet and crunchy touch at the same time, the syrup date is highly used in Middle Eastern cuisine
