Dolmades are a typical dish of Greek gastronomy , they are made from grape leaves and filled in different ways.

Some make it with minced meat, which is served hot and then there are the "liars" as they are called in Turkey, stuffed with rice, nuts or another type of legume.

They are seasoned with a lemon sauce, which is very easy to make at home.

Another dish with a bit of controversy in its origin, as is the case with Tzatziki, its origin is attributed to the Ottoman Empire, however, do not mention it to a Greek because you may end up in bad shape.

Anyone who has been able to try them, both in Turkey and in Greece, will be able to compare them. To be honest, I liked them much more in Greece than in Turkey, much more elaborate, richer in herbs and well soaked in lemon, something that in I didn't appreciate the Bosphorus. However, to throw a spear in favor of Turkey, grilled sardines wrapped in grape leaves are a pure delight.

An easy appetizer, we must not overdo it so as not to be cloying, which we have accompanied with roasted peppers with garlic and olive oil and with some Tyrrell's Stilton and Grape potatoes. Another option would be some breaded anchovies, some sliced tomatoes with feta cheese, there are various options.
