Tinda type pumpkin , preserved Punjabi style

It is a type of pumpkin much smaller than what we are used to, greenish in color and with a very sweet flavor when it is at its ripening point.

Very popular in India and Pakistan, used in various curries and gourmet dishes, the most famous would be the subzi or tinda curry with potatoes accompanied by mango and paratas (a type of bread) although it can also be prepared as a tikka but in instead of chicken or prawns, with the mini macerated pumpkin with tikka masala and yogurt

It can be a quite different but very enjoyable thali or appetizer if you are not a specialist in Indian food.
